An unusual DJ set at the Opéra Garnier

On Saturday, March 22, 2025, theOpéra Garnier drops its pointe shoes and tutus for a descent into the electro underworld with Ma Nuit chez Dante. Spotlight of the evening? The Rotonde des Abonnés, usually the temple of classical music, transformed into a celestial dancefloor by the bewitching beats of duo You Man.

With their Tutti Va Bene EP (2019, Nein Records), You Man orchestrate a set tailor-made for hypnotic trance. Gone are the ballets of the Opéra; here, it's the crowd that goes wild under intoxicating bass and electro beats that would awaken the gargoyles of the Palais Garnier. And because the evening doesn't do things by halves, an interactive device captures the audience's movements and transcribes them into hallucinatory visuals, like Divine Comedy 3.0.
