This is an institution coming straight from Portugal to Paris: Portologia, la Maison des Porto. Based on the observation that it was impossible to find the diversity of Portuguese wines in France – and yet the first country drinking wines from Porto – Julien Dos Santos opened this Maison des Porto in 2000, where he welcomes us and is always happy to help us out.
Both a wine cellar, a bar and a tasting house, this unique place in Paris has a sharp and thorough selection of wines, especially focusing on small producers. He offers a large range of wines from Porto and wines from Douro in a friendly and bright atmosphere – perfect to discover the richness and subtility of these great wines.
These vertical, horizontal and diagonal tasting sessions are available to customization, from 3 to 30 glasses (for masterclasses covering several days). A playful offer fitting neophytes as well as connoisseurs, and a great place unlikely to not fall on deaf ears, take it for granted!
Please also note fado shows are held two Wednesdays a month. A good excuse then to enjoy these beautiful and melancholic tunes while enjoying some tasty wine while having something to nibble on. And to reserve your fado night, we recommend to visit the place’s Facebook page and click on the link of the post about the next show. Shall we give in to fado, then?
