Famous spot set near Bastille, the Grand Bleu shows new colors under the impulse of a new team. Filipe Alves and Karim Selmane, already behind L’Atelier des Artistes, Terrassa and more recently La Démesure sur Seine, come to take over this restaurant-bar offering an incredible and oh-so delighting view on the Bassin de l’Arsenal.
It’s up to you. You can choose to have a seat on the 360° rooftop set above the restaurant and accessible directly from Boulevard de la Bastille or choose to hang on the very nice 60-seat terrace to grab a bite on the ground floor, closer to the basin, with your feet almost in the water or under the trees to protect you from the sun if it hits hard to enjoy beverages and finger food.
And if the weather turns bad, don’t panic, you can still find shelter in the covered part. Both spacious and light, the inside of the Grand Bleu covers 150 sqm and has a unique setting adorned with a sophisticated décor. Thought up like an apartment, we find a very charming winter garden and a large bay window.
In terms of food, the Grand Bleu bets on quality produces especially with boards of charcuterie, oysters, salads and other seasonal dishes (ceviche, risotto, lobster carpaccio, entire sole…) concocted by chef Santiago Federici Cuadro Valdes. To wash it all down, wines, beers without forgetting refreshing cocktails are available!
For example, let yourself be tempted by the “Ispahan” inspired by Pierre Hermé’s famous macaron of the “Cucumber Addict” based on gin or the “Triple C”, a clever blend of Cosmopolitan, Cardamom and Lemongrass – Lemongrass meaning Citronelle in French (hence the name of the cocktail)!
And for music lovers, trust the team that offers you every night a top-quality musical program: Motown Party on Friday, Katapult duo on Saturday and the Sunny Sunday evening by Dan Marie on Sunday.
