Fancy a beach break and why not an unusual boat trip on the Seine without leaving the capital? Polpo Plage has it all. We're off to rediscover the large summerterrace adjoining the seafood brasserie, which transforms into a veritable seaside beach insummer.
Located on the Right Bank of the Seine, in Levellois-Perret(accessible by metro, of course!), Polpo Plage has a lot to offer. With picnic-style tables, cosy sofa-benches, deckchairs and parasols, we're all set to kick off our shoes and put our feet up on the fine, warm sand. A large wooden bar welcomes you to enjoy beers, cocktails, rosés, oysters and spreads from Supers Producteurs. And, of course, we finish with our famous Italian ice creams for dessert!
This summer 2023, Polpo Plage returns with a sensational new feature for Parisians in search of escape: a marina where you can hire electric boats without a license to cruise the Seine. If you're looking for a different kind of terrace and an unusual activity to enjoy with your partner, family or friends, this is the spot you're going to love.
The marina is the result of a collaboration between the barge-restaurant Polpo and the company Marin d'eau douce. The small electric boats, which don't require a license, enable you to cruise on the water all the way up to the Suresnes lock, using the river's oxbows. These boats are made in France, in Nantes (Loire-Atlantique) and near Cognac (Charente), and can accommodate between five and nine people. The boats navigate the Seine at an average speed of 6 km/h, and surprise, you're the captain!
Trips departing from the Levallois marina are designed to last two hours, enabling you to reach the Suresnes lock in complete safety, without passing any freight barges. However, the more adventurous can hire a boat for up to 4 hours and continue the adventure on the other side of the Seine, towards L'Île-Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis). Don't worry, the navigable section is in a backwater of the Seine, so there's no risk of running into a freight boat.
Rental rates vary according to boat size and length of trip, from 40 euros for a 4-5 berth boat for 1 hour, to 90 euros for a 10-11 berth boat.
The best deal? Gourmet baskets are available to treat yourself to a meal on the water, ideal for enjoying the sun and, why not, a beautiful sunset.
So this summer, put your feet up in the sand and let yourself be tempted by an unforgettable river trip from Polpo Plage, discovering the banks of the Seine and the unusual landscapes of the Paris region.
