Le Charles is the trendy cocktail bar at the Le Burgundy hotel in Paris's 1st arrondissement. A veritable counterpart to Restaurant Le Baudelaire, this cosy little corner pays tribute to the poet and offers a new drinks menu, Poisons Exquis, starting this autumn...

A cocktail menu inspired by cursed writers... That's what the bar at Le Burgundy hotel, Le Charles, located in the capital's 1st arrondissement and adjacent to the Le Baudelaire restaurant, is offering. Like the restaurant, the bar pays homage to the illustrious French poet and author of Les Fleurs du Mal, and offers Poisons Exquis, a cocktail menu in reference to the dark romanticism of the 19th century, available this autumn and created in collaboration with NOMIE Paris, a true spice specialist.

A signature cocktail menu imagined and created by Chef Barman Jérémy Blanc, offering an immersion into the world of 19th-century European novelists. Mary Shelley, Lewis Carrol, Rudyard Kipling, Jules Verne and Edgar Allan Poe... So many famous authors for so many iconic cocktails! On the drink front, fans of fantasy literature might well opt for"It's Alive", a cocktail from the world of Frankenstein, made with Mount Gay Black Barrel rum, H Theoria "Electric Velvet" liqueur, a grape-strawberry-lemon blend, a touch of hibiscus and a pinch of Chipotle pepper. An electrifying cocktail for all lovers of spicy drinks.

For a trip to Wonderland, succumb to the "Cup of Tea" cocktail, served in a tea cup, and made with Gin 44, Young Hyson Tea, Mace and Jamaican pepper. And for those who prefer the underwater depths, the "Capitaine Nemo" cocktail, made with Pyla, Grog Bleu, hibiscus, lemon and Timut pepper, should attract their curiosity. A cocktail inspired, of course, by Jules Verne's Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. Three lovely cocktails to discover on this menu, in the company of other equally surprising drinks!

In short, Le Charles is the ideal place to escape the daily grind and travel to different literary worlds with friends or colleagues. Shall we go, friends?
