With its English pub style, warm ambience and expertly crafted beverages, The Cambridge Public House has established itself as a benchmark address in Paris's Marais district, to the point of being ranked among the 50 best bars in the world in 2023! Shall we take you on a tour of this Cocktail Pub?

Just imagine: an English pub mixed with a cocktail bar, nestled in the Haut Marais district. This is the concept to be discovered in Paris by pushing open the doors of The Cambridge Public House.

Behind this establishment, which opens in January 2019, are Hyacinthe Lescoët, best known for his shakes at Mary Céleste, and Hugo Gallou. The Cambridge Public House, based on the concept of a " Public House ", i.e. a Pub, features a sobritish decor with wood, leather and Venetian blinds, all designed by interior architect Damien Carreres. The idea? To offer a convivial place for exchanging, sharing and experimenting, with " Tradition and Transition " as its leitmotiv.

As in an Anglo-Saxon bar, we are greeted with a " Hi, how are you, did you have a good day? " by the very friendly Nicolas Goradesky, bartender of the premises. As for the bar, The Cambridge Public House offers beer and wine to suit all tastes. But the bar's flagship beverages are undoubtedly its cocktails, which are both daring and creative, and constantly evolving with the seasons and the quality products available.

On the menu of this veritable Cocktail Pub? The " Cigarette After Sex " - a cocktail that has been on the menu since its inception - made with Agua de Jamaica, Del Maguey Vida Mezcal and Gin. In addition to this must-have cocktail on the menu, no fewer than 12 clever beverages (three of which are alcohol-free) are on offer. And don't forget the cocktail of the week, which changes every week.

That week, The Cambridge Public House chose to honor a non-alcoholic cocktail made with apple, vanilla, chamomile and Martini Floreale (a non-alcoholic floral aperitif).

For our part, we're tempted by the surprisingly floral " Pimm's 5.0 ", with Pimm's, a liqueur from Maison M Mérise, Gamay wine and gin. On the other side of the room, we fall for the autumnal " City Boys". A Daiquiri-style offering, it includes 30&40 Double Jus (a traditional Norman aperitif) and Plantation rum.

Discover the " Well Acquainted ", served highball-style. Topped with a fig, this cocktail surprises and seduces our taste buds from the very first sip, thanks to its Merlet eau vigne, Manzanilla Sherry and Takamaka rum.

And to accompany it all, The Cambridge Public House has a small menu of snacks. In the style of British pubs, for example, it offers a sausage roll, as well as roast pork, vegetable pie and chicken pie.

So, are you ready to discover this Cocktail Pub, now a must in Paris and ranked among the 50 best bars in the world in 2023? Head to 8 rue de Poitou in the 3rd arrondissement to push open the doors of The Cambridge Public House.
