Poinçon, a living space in a former railway station in Paris

Looking for something new this summer? You're in for a treat, as the 14th arrondissement of Paris is getting a new place to live. The name? Poinçon. Conceived by Renaud Barillet and Fabrice Martinez, already behind La Bellevilloise, it's a place to eat, share and socialize, all in a former railway station on the "petite ceinture".

Here's a new spot that's sure to get people talking! I'm talking about Poinçon, a new cultural venue located in the former Montrouge-Ceinture station, in the 14th arrondissement.

Described as " a contemporary space with a warm, vintage decor ", Poinçon brings new life to this former station in the south of Paris, first opened to passengers on February 25, 1867. What makes it special? Its octagonal shape, literally straddling the tracks!

Closed to passenger traffic in 1934, the Montrouge-Ceinture station was brought back to life in 2008, after 74 years of neglect.

But it was in May 2014 that the municipality of the 14th arrondissement, its Mayor Carine Petit and Paris Habitat chose to entrust this magnificent site to Renaud Barillet and Fabrice Martinez, editors of living spaces with their Cultplace factory and already behind La Bellevilloise in the 20th.

With the opening of Poinçon, the two partners are banking on a new hybrid and innovative venue with a surface area of 400 m² and a 250 m² terrace. Combining cultural and social programming, café and restaurant, exhibitions and events, Poinçon promises to be the new Parisian spot for socializing and chilling out.
