Well, Paris cannot be boring at all! There are always unexpected spots delighting eyes and taste buds. And today, here is a great location for a fantastic pre-dinner drink. Go by the left banks, in the heart of the Latin Quarter. This is where stands Solera, a secret place that has it all to become your next HQ.
Discover unique recipes likely to amaze you because of their taste and look. We must say Solera is to cocktail what Haute-Couture is to fashion. It has a menu worthy of the greatest Parisian palaces… but for an affordable cost! For here, signature creations are about €13.
What we love here is this is a spot for everyone, no matter how old you are. Each and everyone can meet to enjoy an experience around the art of cocktail. No need to be a connoisseur, the menu has been created so that everyone can find a recipe suiting their taste. The warm team behind Solera is simply willing to make you enjoy their skills and their enthusiasm is catching.
You get it, this is the ideal place to have a spectacular pre-dinner drink. Banana, Aladdin’s lamp, hanging egg or even hot-air balloon cocktail, the bar teams up with ceramist artists to create genuine masterpieces. Once you have admired your cocktail, you shall sip it up.
As one carefully reads the menu, it is simple, we feel like trying everything. But our curiosity has us try the Mongole Fier first, a great cocktail based on elderflower, white wine and kiwi. Served in a hot-air balloon, this creation is both light and refreshing. Then, we try the Artiste, one of the bar’s best-sellers served in a magic lamp. Based on Zubrowka Biala vodka, elderflower, kiwi, cucumber, and lime, this very fruity cocktails yet has hints reminding us of Oriental flavors.
Then, we moved to the Very Yummy that made us feel like we were having a drink in Wonderland. An alembic-looking carafe, turn the faucet on and pour yourself this precious nectar in a china cup. Based on white wine infused with strawberry, green jasmine tea, elderflower, yellow lemon, and lemon verbena, this cocktail is likely to delight floral flavor fans.
Then comes the Cuban Tobacco – that has been our favorite one. Slide the top of the box open to reveal the treasure: a sweet smell of tobacco fills the air to reveal a creation inspired by the Old Fashioned. Perfect for those loving smoky flavors, the Cuban Tobacco has extremely tasty aromas: Rhum Saylor Jerry, vanilla, almond liquor, and angostura. Touché!
And do not miss either the Banana Toys, a cocktail reminiscing us of summer vacations! Yellow snake rum, banana juice, coconut purée and angostura, it is like sipping a pastry. Another and as indulging but light creation: the Bistropolitain. Served in a transparent shell, this creation is likely to delight fruity flavor fans. This time, the cocktail is mixed with Gin Hendrick, elderflower, vineyard peach cream, and yellow lemon.
Although we definitely fell in love with the Cuban Tobacco, we yet really loved everything we tried at Solera. Each cocktail has a very different universe, and this is the reason why we are sure anyone can find their match. We love the passion lived by the genius behind the bar, we must hail their wish to democratize their art and the icing on the cake: enjoy DJ sets on Friday and Saturday nights!
Nothing can stop them and this is thanks to this kind of places Paris is this magic!
