Well, this is more than a simple homage that the Paris Accor Arena pays to Johnny Hallyday. In addition to the esplanade named after the singer – including a statue – the venue inaugurates this September 14, 2021, the arena has also decided to create an official Johnny Hallyday bar: the Johnny’s Bar.
The bar – the only one officially named after the singer who passed away on December 5, 2017 – is inaugurated this September 14. It will open to the public from 5 p.m. And although it is housed at the Accor Arena, this has not been left to hazard: all along his career, Johnny Hallyday has performed about 101 times between 1981 and 2015 at Bercy.
This Johnny’s Bar – a temporary bar – aims at being intimate and warm, directly inspired by the music Johnny Hallyday loved. A place fit with deep leather sofas set around a stage. A place with soft lights. A place both chill and rock fitted with a terrace that will be the weekly place for live shows.
In this Johnny's Bar, absolutely everything reminds us of Johnny Halliday. The very typography of the name of the place is Johnny's very handwriting. And like Hard Rock Cafes around the world, the Johnny's Bar gathers items that used to be the singer's (guitars, stage outfits...) especially loaned by Laeticia Hallyday. Walls are covered in pictures and posters. Without forgetting the bar behind which stands American license plates and a carved ram skull.
Titles of the songs performed by Johnny ("Toute la musique que j'aime", "Allumer le feu", "Be bop a Lula") sparkle in neon light.
On the menu of the Johnny’s Bar? Delicious whiskies, IPA draft beer, wine, as well as cocktails the singer loved the most, and he was not the last person to order a drink when it was pre-dinner drink time. Because Laeticia Hallyday passed the exact recipes of her late husband's favorite cocktails based on vodka: Dry Martini and Bloody Bull (vodka, Viandox [concentrated meat extract], tomato juice, yellow lemon, tabasco, celeriac salt, and Worcestershire sauce). More cocktail recipes - more classic - complete the list.
Moving on to food, the Johnny's Bar serves cold cut and cheese boards and tapas to share.
The Johnny’s Bar opens every day from 5 p.m. and of course to all, even if you do not have a ticket for the show of the day at the Accor Arena.
And what about you? Will you set fire or stay the night at the Johnny’s Bar?
