The WHSmith bookstore now called Smith&Son reopens their tearoom in Paris in the historic atmosphere of George Washington's apartment, and reveals a new décor. Famous British bookstore set rue de Rivoli, Smith&Son reopens their tearoom well hidden above the bookstore. Set on the first floor of the centenary-old store, the café provides 3 areas to have a rest.
Fireplace room with new-found mural décor, hallway with benchseats to relax or wide room at the back, you can choose where you want to relax.
The place unveils their Cream Tea a lighter version of the afternoon tea mostly serving scones with strawberry jam and Clotted Cream. No savory offer, no cakes, only tasty scones with flavorful tea. Here, scones are baked according to a traditional recipe - plain or with raisins. Clotted cream comes from Coombe Castle house (Devon) and strawberry jam is handmade. Served lukewarm, they are delicious.
But may foodies be rest assures, teatime is also available off the menu. To enjoy as a duo for €35, this teatime inludes 2 drinks to choose, 4 scones, 4 sandwiches, and 2 sweet treats.
Please note the cream tea is served daily from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and can be enjoyed as a takeaway. How about treating yourselves to a very British break before or after a stroll in the Tuileries garden?
