Starting December 14, 2019, Sébastien Gaudard proposes a brand-new series of pastry or frozen yule logs to finish your Holidays meals 2019.

Holidays 2019 are just around the corner and gourmands are already looking for the perfect yule log to flawlessly finish their Christmas or New Year’s dinner. But do you know where the yule log comes from?

A long time ago, each guest invited to Christmas Eve dinner used to bring a log to warm the house up during the night. Since heating systems have changed since then, this lovely tradition could have disappeared if pâtissier Pierre Lacam didn’t step in and have the idea to make it a cake.

And it’s actually in Pierre Lacam’s ancient patisserie rue des Martyrs that Sébastien Gaudard has settled in and offers us his yule log collection, starting December 14, 2019.

  • Rolled chocolate-raspberry yule log
    Chocolate cake, smooth chocolate cream, sour raspberry jam, crispy shavings

Price: €45 serving 6/7

  • Bûche Merveilleuse
    Smooth vanilla meringue, chocolate whipped cream, bitter chocolate shavings. Inspired by a recipe created by pastry chef Roger Mouille, dessert creator, in Hazebrouck in the 50’s.

  • Bûche Séraphin
    Rolled chestnut-hazelnut macaron cookie, praline cream, hazelnut chunks, coated in milk chocolate. Inspired by Rémond’s recipe in Nancy, training house from father to son.

  • Bûche Mont Blanc
    Madagascar vanilla meringue, chestnut cream, whipped cream

  • Rolled chocolate yule log
    Almond cake soaked in cocoa nectar, intense chocolate mousse and ganache

  • Rolled chestnut yule log
    Almond cake, candied chestnut cream and sprinklers

  • Rolled coffee yule log
    Almond cake soaked in coffee nectar, coffee butter mousse

    Crunchy succès, Ardèche chestnut cream ice cream, pear sorbet
