Among our favorite patisseries, we have Yann Menguy’s in Paris 18th arrondissement called Goutte d’Or Pâtisserie. For this Christmas 2019, the chef came up with a magnificent signature yule log shaped like drops (as a nod to the name and the emblem of the store of course, since a “goutte” means a drop).
In my opinion, it looks like the back of a dragon and I like it, anyway, these golden cones and balls can be cut in portions and it will make a sensation on your table.
This lovely yule log is based on brownie/Piedmont hazelnut cake, crunchy Sobacha (buckwheat) mix, creamy milk hazelnut gianduja insert and light milky 42% cocoa mousse, the whole coated in aguarani chocolate glaze.
We love how fresh and smooth the cream is, how soft the cake is, and the crunch brought by sobacha and its particular taste. A lovely mix likely to delight your family. Allow €70 for this creation serving 6 foodies. To discover and order from December 2 to mid-January.
Of course, the chef provides other yule logs that are more affordable, such as the one based on pistachio-orange blossom to discover for the Holidays.
This year, the chef innovates and presents his first Advent Calendar. A calendar shaped like a book to open and unveiling each day a surprise chocolate. Caramel-vanilla truffles, 70% dark chocolate truffles, milk chocolate-hazelnut and gianduja truffles await you. Sold for €48, this calendar will help you wait until Christmas.
In other words, a sure bet!
