It is one of the beautiful terraces we love to keep to ourselves. Jardin Privé managed to show the very potential of Quentin Lechat - now chef at Le Royal Monceau (please!). We wish the best to his successor Sarah Ifrah Ohana, freshly arrived to the kitchen of Novotel Paris Les Halles. She managed to relaunch T'time's menu for the summer with a menu she put together in a few weeks. Sophisticated desserts fitting everyone's taste, shining a light on the young chef's promising talent.
Head to this verdant terrace hidding in the very heart of Châtelet. To access it, you have to dare and push the door of Hotel Novotel Paris Les Halles and ask for the way to the Jardin Privé. This terrace is a genuine breath of fresh air in Paris where you can have a seat to enjoy a drink, a pre-dinner drink, or a mouthwatering afternoon snack, for a very, very affordable cost.
Affordable, really? The T'time set menu costs €19 including a drink to choose between tea, coffee, to order hot or iced, a small frozen "pre-dessert" to tickle your taste buds, and a wonderful pastry off the menu.
Not a lot of choice: mille-feuille, Fraise, or Chocolat, but their realization is great, each revealing surprises with every bite you take.
Our favorite? The Fraise (Strawberry), refreshing, light, filled with strawberry compote low in sugar, surrounded by almond mousse, with streusel cookie to keep it all together, perfect for sunny days.
For foodies? Sarah Ifrah Ohana has come up with the Chocolat with thin and perfectly balanced 76% dark chocolate leaves, set as a fan over some peanut praline shortbread! Play with this pastry inviting us to get each chocolate leaf to eat it on its own, or cut the cake or eat it by hand...
The mille-feuille, is a true gem to discover! Presented as a white dome (yes it is), it hides a crunchy cake to shake the taste buds up.
For 7 euros, a second "discovery" dessert comes to your table. This is a pavlova-style fruity dessert based on seasonal peaches.
Although the on-site teatime is a treat, you can get some vanilla custard pie on Fridays and cookie box on Wednesdays to enjoy an indulging break at home.
this beautiful menu is to change after the summer, with a new and even more indulging format and new pastries to discover!
