A chic afternoon break with delicious pastries in small size, how about that? Go and discover the creations of Angelo Musa who has been Pastry World Champion and Meilleur Ouvrier de France, and Alexandre Dufeu, Hotel Plaza Athénée pastry chef.
Together, they came up with a very tasty afternoon snack for foodies including the best pastries of Angelo Musa’s career.
Presented like a three-tier teatime, it is a genuine indulging break that you can enjoy daily from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Galerie in Plaza Athénée. Forget about savory, travel cake and scones, Angelo's teatime honors pastry.
There are staple pastries such as the Tiramisu honoring his roots. With a nice and strong taste of coffee, Marsala and a splash of Sicilian wine, it is delicious.
There is also the Paris-Valence, a reinterpretation of the Paris-Brest but 100% almond-based. Poor in sugar, this creamy and indulging pastry with almond praline is likely to delight you.
Another staple of the chef, his cake discovered when he was working at Oberweis. A creation he interprets here with hazelnut. Both smooth and moist, with a nice taste of hazelnut. We love it.
Chocolate lovers will fall in love with Papilio, the strong chocolate entremets spiced up with fleur de sel, that made the chef win the Pastry World Cup in 2003.
Among the novelties, the seasonal tart here available in fig. With a fig leaf-infused fig confit core, this pastry is both fresh and surprising.
And we cannot speak about Angelo Musa without thinking about his magnificent 100% Vanille. Here, we have the seasonal pear version to bring something light and fresh to this iconic dessert.
Then, we fall for the exquisite Merveille chocolat-citron hidding some meringue and cake.
To all this, add the coconut marshmallow lollypop and raspberry fruit jell, caramel and pecan shortbreads coated in chocolate, almond-hazelnut praline truffle, caramel-passion and gianduja ganache and a hot drink, and this is heaven. And if it still not is, you can still have a look at the pastry cart!
Please note this teatime exists with champagne instead of the hot beverage or proper teatime style with a savory offer (Croque-Plaza or finger-like club sandwich).
