For Christmas 2019, Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF) Laurent Duchêne presents his yule log named ‘Mon Beau Sapin’, as well as a praline chocolate box ‘Carré Vincennes’. We’re melting for it!

Holidays are just around the corner and it will soon be time to choose the yule log you’ll present to your family and friends for Christmas feasts 2019.

If you are into haute-pâtisserie, well then Relais Desserts pastry chefs’ yule logs are likely to delight your taste buds and your guests’.

Pastry chef and chocolate maker and Meilleur Ouvrier de France Laurent Duchêne presents us his latest creation for Christmas 2019, the “Mon Beau Sapinyule log, in partnership with executive chef Fabien Le Moal.

In tribute to the classic Black Forest, this design yule log is made of five individual trees ready to be eaten and linked to each other by a chocolate saw. Under their chocolate bark hide the flavors of this traditional dessert: organic 65% dark chocolate mousse, morello cherry confit free from alcohol, marzipan Sacher cake, Madagascar vanilla cream.

The whole topped a crunchy Japanese buckwheat mix from the Hokkaido region – as a nod to the Country of the Rising Sun.

Costing €55, the yule log is available to order from December 2 to December 24 and in store only on December 22, 23 and 24, 2019.

And that’s not all since Laurent Duchêne also came up for the Holidays 2019 with a chocolate box called “Carré Vincennes” as a nod to the pastry chef’s new store in Vincennes.

As another nod to Vincennes and its castle, the design of these praline squares on which we guess the castle towers. The box includes 9 dark and milk chocolate praline squares.

The dark chocolate squares are stuffed with almond-hazelnut praline and almond streusel chunks. As for the milk chocolate squares, the homemade praline is made with hazelnut streusel chunks.
