Gontran Cherrier bakeries: viennoiseries to die for

Gontran Cherrier is to bakery what Cyril Lignac is to gastronomy. A young, handsome, trendy, super talented man but specialized in his field: bakery-pastry. In Paris 17^th, 18^th or 9^th arrondissements and in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, this is the place to be for viennoiseries lovers.

Croissant is of a rare crispiness and with just enough butter, as for the pain au chocolat, the chocolate stuffed inside really is tasty, smooth and delicious. For €1.20 per butter croissant and €1.30 the pain au chocolat, you can even buy both!

We also try the matcha/white chocolate or white chocolate/raspberries scones for (€3.20). For you or someone else, go for the hazelnuts, matcha green tea and pistachio mini-financiers small packets, a delight for €4.50.

In terms of breads, flours coming from the region between Paris and Orléans are Label Rouge and CRC (sustainable agriculture), which are quality tokens. The baguette tradition and the cereal baguette taste really good, but there’s one thing worth the trip: it’s Gontran Cherrier special breads that you can’t find anywhere else. Honorary mention to the rye and miso bread as well as the cranberries and almonds bread for €11.95 per kilogram: toasted and covered in salted butter, it’s delicious!

For lunch, Gontran Cherrier offers classic sandwiches and “signature” sandwiches presented in colorful buns. You can buy buns only to create your very own sandwich at home: a whole range of flavors and colors: a Paprika red bun, a squid ink bun, a love-in-a-mist green bun and many others.

This winter, you can even enjoy delicious homemade soups on the spot or in the store set in Paris 18^th arrondissement.
