Mado in Paris is a new tea shop to try in Paris! Opening in November 2019 on the rue de Rivoli, facing the Tuileries garden, this madeleine store intends to delight young and old with gourmet and regressive recipes to be consumed with a tea or a hot chocolate!

Installed just across the street from the Jardin des Tuileries, Mado in Paris is the new winter 2019 tea room is going to be the talk of the town: a pretty decor, gourmet madeleines and a nice range of products to take away for gifts.

It must be said that Mado's madeleines had made a name for themselves at the 2018 Salon du Chocolat, except that at the time they were only sold to restaurateurs. The wrong is righted with the opening of the Mado tea room in Paris, located on rue de Rivoli, on the Concorde side. Inside, one takes the time to breathe around madeleines (or a good piece of cake), a tea or a good hot chocolate !

The manager, Catherine, tells us that after years of working in the luxury industry, she launched herself into the madeleine adventure, a product she has loved since childhood. She confides that she often made madeleines with her aunt, Madeleine, when they saw each other. On the walls, there are photos of this aunt, in the 30s and 40s, which celebrate women, including Madeleine!

Her specialty is filled madeleines, like the all-chocolate madeleine with a chocolate heart, the lemon madeleine and the pistachio raspberry madeleine. Visually, they look big and the flavors are appealing to young and old alike. Moreover, the chocolate covered versions are already the best sellers!

We let ourselves be tempted by an all-chocolate madeleine at 3,20€ on the spot (2,90€ to take away) and a hot chocolate at 7,20€. In a boudoir spirit (which reminds us a lot of the Brach brasserie), we forget that we are on the rue de Rivoli. On the walls, full of books that we can read as much as we want, we needed nothing less to make our nest. The madeleine contains a melting heart.

Well melted, soft in mouth, it is the traditional madeleine par excellence. Even if it is not very original, it has a taste of return which can lead us to devour the store. As for the hot chocolate served, it is a real comfort in winter, which remains in the mouth for a few minutes.

Before leaving, it's hard to resist the call of the madeleines to take away, the tea and the jams, ideal for breakfast. A whole display of sweetness presents itself to us, and we already feel tempted!

Here is an address to be noted, as much for its menu as for the soothing setting that we find a few steps from the Tuileries!

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
