Based on the observation that local bakeries only sell traditional pastries, Marianna Mircevski has decided to shake things up a bit and offers in her establishments, the Marius bakeries, a range of delicious éclairs with original flavors based on the most emblematic pastries.
So far, she has been providing a range including about twenty original flavors taking us back to our childhood, like the Sébastien Cheesecake, the Paris Brest or even the Souvenirs d’enfance based on carambar caramel. The whole in a very handy version to make sure you will not end up with sticky fingers.
For the record, the éclair – aka petite duchesse – is a treat that goes all the way back to the 19th century! It is based on chou pastry, finely coated in almonds you eat in the blink of an eye. It is Antonin Carême, the creator of the profiteroles, who got the idea for the first time to fill them up with chocolate or coffee and add a fondant on op.
This nice stretched out choux bun, measuring 13 to 14cm long, has still beautiful days coming up since pâtissiers Sébastien and Anthony lent prestige to this cake, offering 17 fruity and colorful flavors to awaken the taste buds. These éclairs are also available in a giant size to share (or not).
Note that the Marius bakeries only sell éclairs baked on site in the laboratory of each of the two bakery-patisseries. Each one of them is made with fresh and seasonal ingredients and they are never frozen!
Try your luck and win the éclair of your choice:
