Calling all demanding foodies, hotel du Crillon launches its Ice-Cream Truck, a vintage ice-cream truck likely to delight you with homemade recipes available all summer around. Cones, bowls, or wafer, paired with Matthieu Carlin’s delicious homemade ice creams and sorbets, you will love it!

Craving some ice cream? But not any kind of ice cream, some luxurious ice cream, please! This summer, a wind of freshness and novelty blows on Hôtel de Crillon, Place de la Concorde. For the first time, the palace settles an ice-cream truck: a tasty ice-cream truck created by the place’s talented pastry chef: Matthieu Carlin.

Up to August 31, 2020, from Wednesday to Sunday, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. go and discover this vintage 50’s-inspired Citroen truck turned into an ice-cream truck for our greatest joy. Set just in front of the hotel, right by the Concorde metro station exit, and in front of the Tuileries garden, this is an indulging spot you do not want to miss this summer. Rumor has it, summer will be hot, but do you need any excuse to enjoy some tasty ice cream?

Yes, if you are looking for some delicious, and homemade ice cream, you will not be disappointed. For his truck, chef Matthieu Carlin offers 3 containers: a bowl, perfect for children, a classic cone, and a taco-inspired wafer named ice-cream wafer. Cones and wafers are home-made of course.

Moving on to flavors, the chef went for classic flavors highly appreciated and oh-so delicious. All ice creams are homemade and made the very morning, without colorant nor preservatives. Picture this: vanilla ice cream with Madagascan and Tahitian beans infused for 24 hours in milk so that they can deliver all their flavors! Not too sweet, these ice creams and sorbets are ideally balanced to highlight flavors without being too much. Refreshing and not too fat, we love them.

Chocolate, hazelnut praline, salted butter caramel, raspberry, lemon, and sorbet are on the menu. The day we came, we fell for the temporary pina colada with a nice taste of coconut and pineapple, that will only be served for a week. Then, there will be some mango sorbet from July 6, banana-passion from July 13 and Granny Smith from July 20.

Once you have picked the flavor-s you want, go for some mouthwatering toppings. Crumble, caramelized pistachios, roasted almonds, chocolate sauce and/or whipped cream, the choice is all yours.

The truck also provides you with lemonades and fresh beverages from French producers. Allow €5 for a bowl of ice cream, and €8 for the wafer or a cone with ice cream and topping of your choice.
