It was a concept that no one thought about before! In the heart of Paris, in the 2nd arrondissement, a quirky pastry opened on rue de Montmartre. Even though the turquoise façade stands out from the many other stores of this busy street, its originality attracts curious people looking for enjoyable discoveries. This is how Tartelettes becomes foodies’ local hotspot.
Perhaps the name has helped you understand: this patisserie is specialized in tartlets. Here, you are sure to be provided with seasonal creations, based on quality ingredients and especially based on organic flour from M. Gilles Matignon’s craft mill set in Château-Landon, Seine-et-Marne. But careful though, Tartelettes is also likely to delight sweet-toothed and savory-toothed foodies. We promised this was a spot to get everyone to agree, and here is proof.
Sweet version, on the current menu, this spot enhances Fall flavors: Iranian pistachio, Piedmont hazelnut, and even Vanilla-Pecan, a gluten-free version of the tartlet is also available with an original recipe: Coffee-Black Sesame. Anyway, this is an incredible work on textures, and respect of real flavors making those tarts. Low in sugar and very balanced, we love them so much we cannot tell you which one is our favorite!
Savory version, the menu is just as mouthwatering. Behind the “Jardin d’Hiver” hides a savory tart filled with shallot confit, roasted winter vegetables (multicolored carrots, parsnip, turnip) with zaatar. The “Sous-Bois” unveils button mushrooms, oyster mushrooms and parsley. The “Kare Curry” is very surprising as it is based on Japanese Suzuka vegetarian curry and inverted PDO butter puff pastry.
Last but not least, Tartelettes also offers us to enjoy homemade drinks, including some exclusive creations such as the Golden Sesame and the Black Sesame Latte we high recommend! And if you consider Sunday brunches sacred, the place also provides you with a brunch menu for €28 including a savory main, a sweet treat, a sweet tartlet, a hot beverage and a cold beverage.
