Foodies who pay attention to their figure for health reasons such as diabetes or to simply feel good in their own bodies, may have already heard about Les Belles Envies. Launched a few years ago, this patisserie creates pastries without added sugar to get a very low glycemic index, reaching 25 maximum, yes, as low as in a grapefrui.
In addition to using natural sugars, Les Belles Envies pâtissier Anna Bellandi also chooses to use semi-whole or whole flours enabling to get a very low glycemic load thanks to fibers. Interested yet?
And for the summer 2021,another staple star of the summer season is given pride of place at Les Belles Envies: ice creams and sorbets, of course! On the occasion, the team has teamed up with ice cream master Philippe Faur to come up with five recipes. Mango, Vanilla, Raspberry, Hazelnut, and soon Chocolate are available. The vanilla ice cream displays an IG of 19, so does Halzenut. Both sorbets, Mango and Raspberry, have an IG of 20! And we tasted them, and the ice creams are very creamy, and super tasty.
Les Belles Envies have come up with two sizes: individual jar for €5.90 and a 500ml-jar for €17.90.
Another seasonal product is the mouthwatering tarts and tartlets made with seasonal fruits: strawberry at the moment, and soon raspberry, based on sweet shortcrust pastry, and light lemon cream as the common base, almond cream with raspberry or strawberry chunks, topped with fresh raspberries or strawberries.
