How about taking the time to unwind while sipping on genuine coffee and nibbling on delicious Japanese pastries? Come along, we take you to Kafé Buki, a very friendly and indulging Japanese coffee shop.

If you enjoy Japanese culture, we may have found your new headquarters! Called Kafé Buki, this is a new coffee shop set in the dynamic Sentier area in Paris. Using the best of the Japanese culture codes, this café takes you to the country of the Rising Sun, especially thanks to the detailed décor harmoniously mixing tradition (natural and raw wood, and clean lines) and modernity.

Kafé Buki is very relaxing and calming, perfect to unwind and take your time. “Take you time, we give you ours”, Coffee in Good Spirits France 2014 Champion and barista Nir Chouchana told us with a smile, as he co-manages the place with Olivier Tordjman. Although some – workaholic – people will make the most of it to work on site, others would rather want to enjoy one of the mangas available (and on sale), while sipping on delicious coffee.

Because at Kafé Buki, like in Japan, making coffee is a genuine art. Therefore, Nir Chouchana and Olivier Tordjman wanted to keep the traditional Japanese techniques to make quality coffee. Here, coffee can be enjoyed several ways: latte, drip for 24 hours for a unique cold brew or even pure origin made thanks to a siphon coffee maker. One of the house’s specialties is the Kurimu coffee: a signature expresso enhanced with ultra-light whipped cream and customizable with raspberry, agave nectar or matcha. The Kurimu can also come in as matcha or genmaicha.

Matcha latte is also given pride of place, so is tea (sencha, Hojicha…) and hot chocolate, if you love it. Of course, Kafé Buki also serves fresh drinks on site or takeout. By the way, note the Pure Origin filtered coffee is available at will!

To pair these fresh and hot drinks, Kafé Buki also provides a savory offer based on homemade onigiri and donburi. If you have a sweet tooth, the café has teamed up with a great name of Japanese pastry: Tomo. On the menu? Salt flake dorayaki, Japanese yuzu cheesecake and delicious black sesame or matcha mochi. For the French twist, Kafé Buki tickles one’s taste buds with waffles topped with very light whipped cream!
