Calling all foodies, this is an address you want to remember! In the previous episode, we told you about Bonjour Palais-Royal, a mouthwatering counter nestled under the arches of one of the most beautiful gardens in Paris. And guess what? They are also behind a delicious Coffee-shop set by the Grands Boulevards.
This mouthwatering location is Lactem. Here, one enjoys a warm and very quirky spot with industrial-inspired decoration, a bit steampunk. A bathtub has been turned into a bench, books are available in self-service and the owner is very charming, this is a place made for sharing and conviviality. Although one loves the atmosphere of the place, it is nothing compared to the indulging food offer on the menu. By the way, it is fully vegetarian with mostly vegan dishes to fit everyone’s diet!
This special café serves healthy drinks and irresistible homemade pastries. From the window, we have been attracted by the super-thick cookies, and very moist, likely to make your mouth water. On site, you can enjoy very comforting dishes: avocado toast, granola bowl, scrambled eggs… This is heaven for brunchers! And let us tell you that Sundays are for brunch only with a €24 set menu including a warm beverage, a juice made to order, a slice of cake with avocado toast or mozzarella-pesto grilled cheese. Allow an extra €1 for eggs, and €3 for granola!
Foodies are happy with the hearty serving sizes, delicate products and homemade dishes. Of course, we had the very thick peanut butter cookies, they were very soft and flavorful. For the fresh touch, we had an avocado toast and light salad. And let us not say no to the homemade granola coming in vegetarian or vegan version and served with seasonal, colorful and fresh fruits.
We ate every bite without feeling guilty: seasonal fruits and vegetables are worked on site so we can indulge ourselves without caring about calories!
As for drinks, let us enjoy fruit juices squeezed on demand or comforting warm beverages as beautiful as tasty. First thing to try in a coffee shop, coffee! And we are not disappointed: a nice and powerful bitter taste of coffee, a lovely milk drawing on top. But tea lovers are not left out either: the chai latte is a genuine treat for the taste buds and wonderfully matches every dish on the menu.
In other words, Lactem is about to become our new HQ and we will not hesitate to come back and try their seasonal novelties!
