Here is an address to note absolutely! In the previous episode, we introduced you to Bonjour Palais-Royal, a tempting counter nestled under the arcades of one of the most beautiful gardens in Paris. Well, guess what? They are also at the origin of a delicious Coffee-Shop which is located this time on the Grands Boulevards.
This tempting spot is Lactem. Here we discover a warm and totally offbeat setting in an industrial spirit with a little steampunk touch. A bathtub transformed into a bench, self-service books, and a friendly owner, it's a place made for sharing and conviviality. If we love the atmosphere of the place, it is nothing compared to the greediness that awaits us on the menu. Moreover this one is entirely vegetarian with a majority of vegan dishes, what to suit all thus!
In this specialty café, you will find healthy drinks and irresistible home-made pastries. From the window, we will have been attracted by the mega-thick and ultra-soft cookies that are mouth-watering. On the spot, you can taste comforting dishes that are unanimously appreciated: the avocado toast, the granola bowl, the scrambled eggs... here we are in the bruncheurs' paradise! By the way, we warn you that Sunday is exclusively dedicated to brunch with a 24€ formula including a hot drink, a juice prepared at the minute, a piece of cake with an avocado toast or a mozzarella pesto croque. You will have to count 1€ extra for eggs and 3€ for granola!
Gourmets will be delighted to discover generous portions, fine products and home-made dishes. Of course, we love the peanut butter cookies which are very thick, ultra soft and full of flavors. For a touch of freshness, we turn to the avocado toast and its light salad. Don't forget the homemade granola, available in vegetarian or vegan versions , served with colorful and fresh seasonal fruits.
We devour each portion without feeling guilty: the fruits and vegetables and the seasonal products worked on the spot allow us to treat ourselves without worrying about calories!
As for drinks, we enjoy fruit juices pressed on demand or comforting hot drinks; as beautiful as good. First thing to taste in a coffee shop: the coffee! And we are not disappointed: a good powerful taste without the bitter side of coffee, and a nice pattern drawn with milk on the top. But tea lovers are not left out for all that: the chai latte is a real sweetness for the taste buds and goes just as well with the dishes proposed on the menu.
In short, we made Lactem our new HQ, and we don't hesitate to go back regularly to test the new seasonal products!
