Le Gainsbarre, the café-restaurant and cocktail bar at the Maison Gainsbourg

La Maison Gainsbourg, Serge Gainsbourg 's home for 20 years, now transformed into a museum, is now open. Head to 14 rue de Verneuil, in Paris's 7th arrondissement, opposite the artist's former home, to discover one of the capital's must-see addresses. A place of pilgrimage for many, this graffiti-covered house was once home to the illustrious author, composer and singer. This is where you'll find the Gainsbarre, Café by day and piano bar by night. Music lovers and other fans in search of eccentricity for a meal, a drink or a lively evening, this is the place to be.

For catering, Paris Society, which already boasts Bonnie, Maxim's, Bambini, MUN, Girafe, CoCo and theAbbaye des Vaux de Cernay, is responsible for Gainsbarre's gourmet offerings.

At Le Gainsbarre, you're transported into a world where time seems to stand still. Black felt walls, poppy and water lily carpeting and black lacquered moucharabieh screens create a warm, intimate atmosphere. This unique venue offers a simple yet refined menu, accessible to all. Inspired by the room-service menus of British hotels and tea-rooms, Gainsbarre offers light, gourmet dishes. Lunch dishes include lobster rolls, truffled croque-monsieur, crispy vegetables and foie-gras. For seafood lovers, Cadoret #3 oysters and gravlax salmon are also on offer.
