The famous Maison Ladurée – famous worldwide for macarons – is now serving a lovely summer teatime to enjoy in August. Recently, the historic Parisian house ideally located on the Avenue des Champs-Elysées revealed a charming flowered terrace to have a break at any time of the day, from breakfast to dinner, including lunch and afternoon tea, of course.
Whether you go for one of the fresh historic lounges, or the bucolic terrace looking like a rose garden, you will be welcomed warmly. But think about reserving ahead of time to prevent from waiting too long.
The teatime, or afternoon tea, expects you every day from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Allow €39 per person for the 160th anniversary teatime including a choice of pastry, 3 macarons, two finger food options, a hot drink and a box of two 160th anniversary vanilla macarons. Allow an extra €10 for the version with a glass of champagne.
Among pastries to choose from, there are classics such as Ispahan, Fraisier strawberry cake or the raspberry mille-feuille, as well as creations by the new pastry chef, Julien Alvarez. Get the pistachio Pépite, the strawberry tartlet, the apricot and orange blossom tartlet, or the monthly anniversary pastry, which is a Pompadour this August (a lovely dessert based on exotic fruits, meringue, fresh mango, pineapple and passion fruit).
As for macarons, the choice is wide: coffee, salted caramel, chocolate, orange blossom, pistachio, rose, vanilla, lemon, raspberry, Marie-Antoinette tea, blackcurrant, violet… You name it.
So, shall we treat ourselves to an indulging break?
