Macaron Day, created by our dear friend Pierre Hermé, about 13 years ago, is back on Tuesday March 20, 2018.
For the record, the principle is simple: Pierre Hermé’s and his fellow members of Relais et Desserts’s give away 1 macaron for free in exchange of a donation to a charity.
This year, Macaron Day is once again mobilizing for the fight against cystic fibrosis and supports the charity Vaincre la Mucoviscidose. This day is a genuine public awareness effort around this fight against the disease.
This coming March 20, clients are then invited to donate for the charity and in exchange, they will get the macaron they want (from the most classic ones such as Chocolate, Vanilla or Raspberry to the most creative Blackberry, Yuzu or Rose Petal among many others).
Among the committed artisans in Paris and Île-de-France:
Let’s recall that last year, in 2017, €50,000 have been raised thanks to the gourmet solidarity of over 300 volunteers in stores and committed Relais Desserts pâtissiers. These donations have been shared between priority missions: healing while supporting research programs, curing, improving the life quality, informing and raising awareness in order to defeat the disease one day.
Don’t forget, on March 20, run to whole participating stores (over 100 stores in France) to do your gourmet good deed.
On 20 March 2018
Un don = un macaron
