Christophe Michalak treats us well for the Holidays 2017. Everything is good and the choice is wide. Our half super-hero and half chic pastry rocker chef helped by a brilliant idea from his wife, offers us a guitar-shaped yule log, no more and no less.
In its box especially created to arrive safely on the Christmas table, imagine your guests’ faces when you’ll open it and they discover the guitar-shaped cake. Made of a coconut-praline crispy biscuit, a dark chocolate cream, a flour-less biscuit (if you are gluten-intolerant, this is for you), a light coconut mousse and the whole is twisted with a passion-mango confit. This cake is not only sublime but delicious. Perfect to finish a copious family meal. It’ll cost you €125 for 8 to 10 persons.
No need to fight to get the best slice, every layer is the same: from the guitar neck to the guitar body. The box even features a drawing to show you how to cut it properly and fairly.
If you’re not a chocolate addict, because yes, it happens everyone has different tastes. Christophe Michalak got it well and keeps things interesting with 3 other traditional yule logs and as gourmet.
Are you more into chestnut-blackcurrant-gianduja, chocolate-yuzu-hazelnut or vanilla-caramel-pecan? The hardest thing is to choose (or not, we take them all, c’mon!). Alright, now you’re not certain? Go and taste them at Christophe Michalak’s stores or at his café. They are sold in small portions (€48 for the yule log for 6 persons and €7 the personal portion).
Because Holidays necessarily mean chocolate, Christophe Michalak offers us a beautiful range of oh-so original creations. We love the small Christmas trees that will pleasantly decorate our tables (€20). We succumb to the rock candy jar shaped like a guitar and filled with chocolate, orange and caramelized hazelnuts crakettes (€60) or the Van de Noël (Christmas minivan) made of dark chocolate, salt flower and covered in gianduja-hazelnuts faggots (€45). The Champignon Rouge Magik (Magik red mushroom) with milk chocolate will cause a sensation on your table (€70) and the Sapin de Noël Mendiant (Mendiant Christmas Tree) will make everyone’s mouth water (€30), well, if they can make it throughout the meal without eating it.
