Whoever never dreamt of falling for all pastries while entering in a bakery casts the first stone! Yes, when I go in a restaurant, the first thing I read is the dessert-part! Yes, I am one of those hesitant persons who would like to taste all desserts of all patrons. And my biggest guilty pleasure is teatime.
A genuine institution in Great-Britain, teatime is like a slunch. Petits fours, viennoiseries, and pastries to enjoy with a hot beverage, a fruit juice or a glass of champagne, it makes a very tasty meal, is it not? And if it is not enough, you can add à la carte pastries. To be enjoyed with your friends, mother or lover. In France as well, sweet treats often take over and savory is not served, and this is more of a "gouter" with many pastries and cakes to eat.
Teatime is the occasion to treat yourself to a privileged sweet break in the afternoon and in a lovely setting. It is a breath of fresh air, and we let the staff take good care of us. It may seem expensive at first, but do not forget that you will not feel hungry afterwards!
