La belle vie sans gluten is the must-try gluten-free bakery in Paris's 7th arrondissement. Every day, Clémentine Oliver bakes gourmet breads, cakes, travel cakes, pastries and viennoiseries. We've tried it, we'll tell you about it!

Located in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, La Belle Vie Sans Gluten is a gluten-free bakery that will make you eat bread again! Run by Clémentine Oliver, a gluten-intolerant baker's daughter (the ultimate!), this bakery offers gluten-free breads, viennoiseries, travel cakes and pastries.

Before opening La Belle Vie Sans Gluten, Clémentine Oliver supplied organic bread to top chefs. Her clients have included Eric Fréchon for Le Bristol, Christian Constant, Guy Savoy, Yannick Alléno, David Bizet, Nicolas Salle, François Perret, Christophe Raoux, Frederic Claudel (L'Hotel Fauchon), Simon Havage (Park Hyatt Madeleine), Jean-Luc Rocha (Saint James). In other words, you can trust him!

His secret? Bake her baguettes, strings and balls of bread on the hearth of a baker's oven, without molding them. It's a method she found with her father to make gluten-free bread look like real bread, with a crust that cracks and an airy crumb!

In early 2017, Clémentine Oliver opened her boutique La Belle Vie Sans Gluten, to offer Parisians the breads, baguettes that so pleased chefs.

Clémentine Oliver 's workshop in the 7th arrondissement produces gluten-free products such as baguettes, round loaves, seed balls and burger buns, as well as chocolate cookies, chocolate brownies, cannelés, cakes in a variety of flavors, cookies, brioche loaves, raisin loaves, lemon shortbread, tarts and even lemon cheesecakes...

In her bakery, all breads are gluten- and lactose-free, and since October 2018, Clémentine Oliver has been developing a range of lactose- and gluten-free travel cakes. We sampled her breads, lemon cakes, chouquettes, cannelés and tarts (lemon AND chocolate... yes, we needed them for the test, it's not just for gluttony).

The cakes and pastries are good in the mouth, not too sweet and quite moist in fact. As for the breads, they're not too hard (the first apprehension when eating a gluten-free cake). Some breads, like the seed balls, even have a well-aerated crumb, and are really good.

Whether you're curious or intolerant, go to Clémentine Oliver, because life is just as good without gluten!

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
