Who said that Disneyland Paris only offered fast food? On the contrary! In addition to some restaurants that regulars know, such as Chez Rémi and its famous ratatouille, Walt Disney Studio organizes its second edition of Le Rendez-Vous Gourmand, from July 10 to October 13, 2019.
The first edition, held in September 2017, has been a true success and was devoted to the gastronomy of varied regions in France. This year, Disneyland Paris extends the experience to Europe!
Like for the first edition, visitors can walk around six chalets offering the best of the regions. You can visit Alsace and savor the famous choucroute or the South of France and taste the pan bagnat with tuna before running to the Savoie chalet if you love raclette and give a go to the West Indies chalet if you like a good chicken colombo.
And to end on a sweet note, have a crêpe and a glass of cider at the chalet Bretagne or foie gras at the South-west chalet... In terms of drinks, beyond cider, regional wines and other alcoholic drinks are given pride of place in a special chalet: the Bistrot de l'été.
This year, in addition to French regions, discover the culinary traditions beyond the French borders with a European tour on Hollywood Boulevard in the Walt Disney Studios park, focusing on Italy, Spain and Belgium. Vegetarian culture will be highlighted with recipes from all over Europe: even though this meatless trend comes from no particular country, it grows bigger and becomes a true gastronomy and this is what matters! Paella, tortilla, lasagna, fallafels, churros, panna cotta, Catalan cream, Liège waffle, here are some treats waiting for you for this second gourmet event to be enjoyed on the spot or to take away.
Dishes the editorial board was lucky to test: we focused on 6 stands following our steps and we could enjoy a tartiflette at the Savoie stand, a chicken colombo at the West Indies chalet, a vegetable tart as well as a passion fruit juice at the vegan stand, a slice of pizza and a glass of Lambrusco at the Italy chalet and finally a Kouign Amann at the Brittany chalet.
Culinary specialties still flavorful, no matter the chalet, and finally seasonned so that everyone can taste a bit of everything. Not too spicy or not enough: we can really enjoy all the flavors available. We particularly loved the tartiflette that reminded us some memories from Savoie as well as the Kouign Amann, not too fat nor too sweet.
And if you don't particularly feel hungry, a last stand, on Hollywood Boulevard, offers many by-products about this event to bring a small souvenir of this gastronomic event back home. In other words, here's another reason to visit Disneyland Paris!
