How about a colorful and flavorful dish sending you to the other side of the earth?Djawa, the Indonesian street food brand opens a new restaurant that will delight you for sure! After République, Montmartre, Miromesnil and Mathurins, Djawa is now setting up by Canal Saint-Martin. Covering 100-sqm and featuring a beautiful terrace with a view on the canal, Djawa Valmy is the biggest of the five restaurants.
On the menu, a colorful and exotic cuisine made out of fresh and quality ingredients, sometimes local sometimes Indonesian. Lemongrass, galangal, coconut, star anise, ginger, java sugar, lemon tree leaves… When we read all these words, our nostrils are already filled of these flavors smelling like Indonesia! Transformed, these products become delicious and typically Indonesian dishes.
First there are the stewed dishes served with wheat noodles or rice noodles and steamed vegetables: Rendang beef stewed for 3hours in coconut milk and 12 spices; chicken curry with coconut milk and lemongrass; chicken satay and its creamy peanut sauce; pollock loin with lemongrass, ginger and tomatoes.
Then, there are the generous wok-cooked dishes, served with crispy vegetables (Nasi Goreng chicken, Mi Goreng chicken, marinated and grilled duck breast,…) and super fresh salad bowls. Please note that main dishes are also available in vegetarian version with tofu, jackfruit and tempeh.
On the menu, we also find Indonesian desserts: coconut milk and banana soup, artisanal cookies with pandan leaves, coconut milk panna cotta and fruits coulis, artisanal mango and passion fruit tartels and even avocado cream with chocolate and coffee.
No need to travel far away to discover the Indonesian gastronomy, you only have to go to one of the five Djawa restaurants!
