Candy Paradis, the new paradise for lovers of candies and stylized pastries

< >
In Paris 12th arrondissement, not far from the Place de la Nation, a new pastel toned store has just opened. It’s Candy Paradis, a patisserie with fantastic stylized cakes and especially a candy store with over 2,000 references of candies. Sweets fans, we’ve found your new GHQ.

Since October 3, 2018, a charming pastel colored store has opened in rue du Rendez-Vous. It’s Candy Paradis, the candy and pastry concept store by cake designer Karine Chiche.

In this candy Aladdin’s Cave, over 2000 different, original candies, some gluten-free, vegan, halal or kosher. Most candies come from all over the world: The United States (especially California), Mexico, Greece, Spain, Italy. But some made-in-France candies also fill the shelves of Candy Paradis. Lollypops, Jelly Belly, chewing-gums, licorice… candies that mostly contain no noxious colorant nor cochineal.

The whole is cleaned and organized per color in the very kawaii and cute charming store that looks like an ancient toy store. By the way, the electric train goes around the store without stopping and the Ferris Wheel in the window keeps on turning.
And since it’s the Holiday season, Candy Paradis has put on its festive best with a big Christmas tree and stylized cakes in the Christmas spirit. And thanks to the golden tickets hidden in the produces until late December, you can win a tour of Candy Paradis backstage and take part in a workshop.

Candies are sold by the weight in packet of 100, 250, 500 and 750 grams or by the piece between 50cents and €1.50 per piece. At the moment, there’s a whole Star Wars collection.

Karine Chiche’s specialty? Her signature bear that you can eat obviously, made of puffed rice and vanilla marshmallow. A true work of art.

And like her bear, all pastries (cheesecakes, cupcakes, sugar cookies, macarons…) are stylized.
Right now, the holiday season is the theme, but these cakes always are covered in (edible) glitters.
One of the trendy flavors is chestnut cream, but starting this spring, other flavors will take over. And if macarons are currently shaped like Santa Claus, they can also take the form of a panda, a unicorn or a little bear.

Moving on to the shareable Paille du Paradis, another specialty by Karine Chiche (rum and orange blossom-soaked sponge cake, filled with almond cream, cauldron-cooked apricot jam and chocolate cream, covered in Italian meringue), it’s very tasty and tantalizing because of its size and it reminds us of oriental flavors.

Beyond everything you can find in the window, the 7 members of Candy Paradis staff works a lot on orders and can make custom-made decorated cakes such as number cakes, these cakes shaped like the age you’re celebrating, as well as all kinds of 3D cakes.

If so far, the store table is currently supporting a huge Christmas tree, very soon, it will be the theater of new workshops for kids and/or adults on Wednesday afternoons and on Sundays.

You get it now, to make your children happy or if you love sweets and all kinds of candies, you have to have a look at Candy Paradis. You can’t leave empty-handed!
