To accompany the release of the “Over the Moon” movie on Netflix on October 23, 2020, Cédric Grolet has created a short-lived pastry, Le Gâteau de Lune (or Moon Cake), a cake inspired by the animated movie. This exclusive sweet creation is available from October 26 to November 8, 2020 at Galeries Lafayette only.
A few weeks prior to Christmas, Galeries Lafayette, Cédric Grolet and Netflix take us to the magic of the Holidays with an extraordinary travel around the “Over the Moon” movie.
Directed by Glen Keane, “Over the Moon” is a musical family animated movie about Fei Fei, a young girl determined to go to the Moon who built a rocket to make it.
The magical universe of the movie is given pride of place to Galeries Lafayette, on the windows, on the panoramic rooftop, as well as at the pop-up Mogador (at the Mogador entrance, 8 rue Mogador).
In this pop-up store, you can discover Le Gâteau de Lune created by Cédric Grolet, named world’s best pastry chef in 2018. The pastry chef has created not one but three recipes of Le Gâteau de Lune with different flavors: chocolate-orange; coconut-lemon-forest pepper; and peanut-black sesame.
And Cédric Grolet’s Le Gâteau de Lune is a charity cake since all profits of the sales of Le Gâteau de Lune cakes will be donated to the CéKeDuBonheur charity working to improve hospitalized children’s daily lives.
“Over The Moon” universe is to be discover from November 18 at the Galeries new children area with a pop-up store and merchandising from a capsule collection, and on the department store’s panoramic terrace including an immersive and sensory experience.
