Boulangerie L’Essentiel is first and foremost Anthony Bosson’s story who becomes “Compagnon du Devoir” (a French organization of craftsmen and artisans) at the age of 21, after “compagnonnage” for 7 years in Paris, Tours, Strasbourg, Lille, Blois, Nîmes, and Nantes. Thanks to this beautiful adventure, he grows a taste for good things and tradition he carries on with his bakeries. In 2009, with Nadine – entrusted with managing – he opens his first bakery-patisserie in Pari 13th arrondissement on Boulevard Auguste Blanqui.
Armed with their success, they then open 3 more places on rue Mouffetard, rue Tolbiac, and rue Daumesnil. Of course, they still stick to what is essential: quality of products and creations. They have won the award for best organic bread 2019 in Paris, and the second prize for best traditional baguette. They will take part in “Meilleure Boulangerie de France” [Best Bakery in France] TV show in a couple of months.
Each L’Essentiel bakery-patisserie has its own identity. It features a nice range of fully homemade products, from yeast to praline. Craft methods, know-how and fine team of passionate people such as France’s Dessert Champion 2017 Cyril Gaidella working as the pastry chef for our greatest delight.
We tried the bakery-patisseries on several occasions and one thing is clear, we loved it every time. In this spring season, do not miss the beginning of the strawberry tart season. Crunchy shortcrust, mascarpone-vanilla cream, tasty and flavorful French strawberries, bergamot citrus confit for some peps, this is the essential by L’Essentiel.
Then, do not miss classics that are delicious and well-balanced. Flan, Paris-Brest, and even Saint-Honoré, they are all so good. Then come temporary creations for some events. For Candlemas we enjoyed some surprising mille-crêpe Suzette’s style, and some puff pastry brioche Kings’ Cake style for Epiphany.
How about treating yourselves to some baked goods, friends?
