Calling all foodies and lovers of exotic food! The Singapore Food Festival comes to Paris from August 27 to September 12, 2021! For this new edition, the Singapore Tourist Office has decided to team up with The Hood restaurant set in the 11th arrondissement. For a little over two weeks, this Asian eatery will serve you a 100% Singapore-inspired menu, to make you discover 4 specialties from this unique and rich gastronomy.
To arouse your taste buds, The Hood chef Khanh Ly Huynh will give pride of place to Singapore’s traditional Peranakan food, described as a mixed cuisine coming from the combined influences of the first Chinese migrants who came to settle in Singapore and the local Malaysian peoples.
On the menu? Nasi Ulam, a delicious aromatic mix of rice and fresh herbs, served cold or at room temperature, then the Rojak, some sweet and savory salad with vegetables and fruits (cucumber, pineapple, apples, soy sprouts, tamarin, ginger, sesame dressing…), without forgetting Kueh, a dessert based on steamed sticky rice covered in a thick layer of coconut jam, and last but not least, the Pandan Chiffon Cake. And the icing on the cake, the first 70 patrons will see their curiosity rewarded with an extra Singapore-inspired surprise!
Note this Singapore menu is available to taste on site, takeout or delivery (pre-order available on The Hood website) from August 27 to September 12.
But this 28th edition of the “Singapore Food Festival” themed on “Enjoy Singapore every single bite” will be the occasion to discover this unique gastronomy through over 50 culinary experiences on a hybrid platform. On the menu? Live masterclasses (some free, some charged) to go and meet some of the most renown chefs in the Singapore culinary stage, as well as filmed recipes, and interactive virtual guided tours of different districts of the city.
So, ready to travel?
