Les Artizans is a nice bistro set rue de Montorgueil by the Halles that make market’s food rhyme with tasty pastries. The place launches a brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Let us discover it, shall we?

Are you looking for a great brunch in Paris 1st arrondissement, in the Halles area? Run to 30 rue Montorgueil  to discover the one served by Les Artizans.

On Saturdays and Sundays, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., this friendly and welcoming bistro offers you to have a treat for €39 per person.

For your information, Les Artizans is a lovely mix between market’s food mixing tradition and modernity led by Patrick Canal, and delicious and beautiful pastries created by Matthieu Mandard. Have a seat in this warm place where stone and wood are given pride of place to enjoy an indulging brunch.

Let us start with the lovely bread basket from Poujauran, and flaky brioche by Matthieu Mandard, livened up with butter, crunchy hazelnut spread and seasonal jam. Choose your hot drink (coffee, tea, homemade hot chocolate) and one of the fresh fruit juices of the day. That day, I went for pear-cinnamon, a latte and hot chocolate.

Once the first part of the breakfast is eaten up, move to the cold and all-you-can-eat buffet. On the menu:

  • Gravlax salmon, pink berry, pickled onions
  • Vitello tonnato
  • Assortment of cold cuts
  • Assortment of cheeses
  • Coleslaw salad
  • Mediterranean pasta salad
  • Cod and salmon taramasalata
  • Soup of the day
  • Whelks and shrimps

It is tasty and very scrumptious, but do not get ahead of yourself, a seated warm dish expects you after. As a matter of fact, you can choose between bacon or smoked salmon Benedict eggs (milk roll, poached egg, spinach sprout, mousseline sauce).

The vegetarian bowl: red cabbage, coconut milk quinoa, mashed sweet potatoes, cumin carrots. It is delicious and we highly recommend it whether you are vegetarian or not.

Or even the free-range roast chicken and mashed potatoes.

Enjoy some cheese before desserts.
