This year, for Easter 2021, Shangri-La Hotel Paris pastry chef Maxence Barbot blows us away with his exceptional creation: the Oeuf-Vanille (Vanilla-Egg). As a matter of fact, the chef drew inspiration from the wonders of nature and provides us with a beautiful Easter creation with trompe-l'oeil vanilla surrounding a lovely hidden egg.
Picture this: 40% cocoa milk chocolate egg boxed by reconstitued pods wonderfully imitating vanilla. These pods are made of 70% Panama chocolate with subtle sour scents and enhanced with cocoa hints that stay long in the mouth. They are filled with almond-pecan praline, enhanced with puffed amarante and crunchy vanilla, and topped with a delicate dash of fleur de sel, what a dance of flavors.
And that is not over, since a surprise expects you inside. As a matter of fact, the milk chocolate egg hides a small treasure-egg made of 70% dark chocolate filled with a soft heart made of almond, pecan, and vanilla praline, delicately coated in smooth vanilla-flavored marshmallow.
In other words, this Easter egg is sublime and tasty, likely to delight children and adults.
