A new and confidential address by Evok has just opened, Place des Vosges: the Cour des Vosges hotel. Set on 19 of the famous square, the hotel particulier offers an unobstructed view on the Louis XIII square. As a matter of fact, this historical site is the former Hôtel de Montbrun, a listed house from the 17th century.
Inside, the hotel offers us to jump back in time within a big French family that lives there since the 16th century. A family enjoying arts, collection arts and that would be happy to pile up sculptures, ceramics, tapestries, furniture…
For Cour des Vosges, architects Yann Lecoadic and Alessandro Scotto have been inspired by the historic Paris and started to recreate its past like archeologists. Facing the listed building, original ceilings and painted beams and other original terra cotta on the floor, they had the mission of protecting, preserving and respecting the authenticity of the place.
Together, they created 12 bedrooms and suites covering 25 to 60sqm (including some rooms being connecting one another), scattered on 4 floors and each featuring a kitchen and many storage units.
Old-fashioned terra cotta floorings flirt with azure tapestries, candelabra lamps rub shoulder with inox tables and glass bar counter, while the statues eye at the lacquered screens. To this, add design pieces and canopy beds!
On the ground floor, a door leads to the hotel’s relaxing area, while the hotel window houses a restaurant that, from breakfast to dinner via teatime, provides a light and tasty food offer. As for the Corner Brach, it displays a selection of sweet treats concocted by Meilleur Ouvrier de France pastry chef Yann Brys.
