Let’s run and discover this new and beautiful hotel in the historic district of Saint-Germain, a stone’s throw from the Seine and the Notre-Dame cathedral. La Lanterne, this is the name of this new 4-star boutique hotel. A name paying tribute to the famous Parisian lampposts easily recognizable.
We discover a human-sized hotel that aims at being as welcoming as your own house, but with beautiful services even though. Swimming pool under the vaults, spa, golden-key concierge, bistronomic room service are services you can expect.
The place underwent a year of renovations and got bigger thanks to the purchase of the neighboring hotel. The hotel now features 42 bedrooms including 3 “Top Floor” each enjoying their own terrace on Paris roofs and two duplexes.
Bedrooms are decorated with wallpapers inspired by Parisian lampposts and lanterns by photographer Nicolas Sénégas. The decoration is both modern and elegant. Are mixing some ancient painted engraving paintings and beautiful fabrics from China. Comfortable, useful, installations made to last, this is what has decided Les Héritiers decoration brand cofounder Pierre Dubois.
The hotel also unveils an inner courtyard giving onto the outside garden. We have 4 very calm bedrooms making us feel like we’re in a private house.
In the basement, La Lanterne unveils a swimming pool hidden under the vaults. We have a mosaic-tiled hammam, a high-tech gym and a SPA providing complete ayurvedic massages accessible to the hotel guests and also to the “outside” people developed with TAAJ, a range of treatments mixing traditional Indian know-how and a high-range French expertise.
As for the common areas, we have different corners to relax: a 50s-inspired lobby with big chairs so that you can read a book, a Chinese lounge to be at peace or for meetings, a bar/breakfast room.
The place also provides a “Clef d’Or Concierge” that will listen and meet every single of your needs especially if you need custom-made advice to visit the city the way you want. As for Room Service, the hotel called in the neighbor brasserie – called L’Annexe – that provides a nice menu of homemade stewed dishes. Go for fresh and seasonal bistro dishes to enjoy from noon to 11:30 p.m. and served with nice wines from winegrowers.
In other words, a charming and perfectly-located hotel to feel like at home, but even better.
