You saved money to go on vacations abroad this year, but because of coronavirus, nothing of than can happen? And what if you take a few days off to rest and what if you used your savings to treat yourself to a high-range stay? Let’s run to Waldorf Astoria Trianon Palace, a five-star Hilton hotel, set a stone’s throw from the Palace of Versailles and its huge park, that reopened.
A luxury hotel offering you mor than a stay: a genuine experience far from the French capital’s hustle and bustle! As soon as you arrive in the bright and clean lobby of the hotel, you are attracted by the little details of the décor adorning the walls and ceiling. Moldings, chandeliers, armchairs… Everything has been made to make you feel at ease from the very entrance. A mix between chic, sobriety and modernity, making you feel like at home.
Bedrooms are very wide an especially comfortable: king-sized bed, television and Wi-Fi, desk, connected clock… the best in terms of comfort. The huge bathroom looks clean and is not left out with bathtub, step-in shower, marble washstands… The luckiest of you will get a view on the park of Versailles and its animals (mostly sheep), others will enjoy beautiful views on the terrace and the hotel’s rose garden. Whatever views you have, comfort is total and you will sleep like a baby.
Moving on to food, several options are possible: La Véranda restaurant serves bistronomic food to die for, and Gordon Ramsay au Trianon, one of the many high-range restaurants by the famous British chef, invites you to enjoy highly sophisticated gastronomy. And of course, we finish with the hotel bar for one last drink before heading to bed or home. For the record, restaurants and bar are also open to the hotel guests and people from outside.
As for the menu, the editorial board has had the privilege of discovering La Véranda. A bistronomic and very mouthwatering menu that has nothing to be ashamed of. We went – for the main course – for the semi-salted butter roasted cod, grilled zucchinis and sorrel sauce. A dish of a rare fineness we enjoyed to the very last bite. As for dessert, the raspberry and yuzu Saint-Honoré finished off the meal beautifully, along with some basil, mint, and yuzu sorbet as a pre-dessert.
And in the morning? La Véranda restaurant expects you with a very delicious continental breakfast… Benedict eggs, cheese board, fruit salad, viennoiseries, coffee… All you need to start the day off right! Craving lunch on the grass? Waldorf Astoria Trianon Palace offers you picnic baskets to take away for a lunch as a couple (or with friends or anyone else) sheltered by one of the trees in the park of the Palace of Versailles. Delicious picnic baskets to book on the hotel website whether you are staying at the hotel or not and to get for an unparalleled chic and bucolic moment!
Entertainments, you ask? The idea being to provide you with a genuine experience mixing relaxation and culture, Waldorf Astoria offers you to enjoy its facilities and services: the spa Guerlain invites you to have a soft break with different treatments. Imperial orchid, royal bee, custom-made facial, body enhancement, waxing… as many services for 1, 2 or 3 hours (depending on what you choose) for a pure moment of rapture and wellbeing.
Let’s make the best of it and go to the sauna or the swimming pool open to all hotel guests to finish this relaxing moment beautifully. Note that treatments provided at the spa are charged and accessible to guests of the hotel and people outside. The access to the swimming pool and sauna is included in your stay. For a sport moment, you can also go to the gym with a whole bunch of machines and treadmills to work out. A tennis court is also available outside in the hotel’s park.
Set on the border of the Versailles park, a stone’s throw from the Petit Trianon, staying at Waldorf Astoria Trianon Palace is also the occasion to enjoy lovely walks within the gardens of the palace, spreading over 830 hectares, and to discover this high place of culture in France (and we are talking about the palace, of course), where lived the most celebrated king of France, Louis XIV. For history fans who would really like to discover the park of the palace without tiring themselves to much, Versailles Events – organizing custom-made events in Versailles – picks you up at the hotel for historic tours of the gardens in Segway. The perfect moment to know more about the history of France. And for the rest, you can also discover the musée Lambinet (the museum of the city of Versailles), or simply enjoy a walk in the city.
Please also note that business seminars can also be organized in a pavilion set across the hotel and only reserved for this kind of service. For your wedding (or a relative’s) you can also book the Salle Clemenceau, one of the most beautiful rooms in the hotel (if not the most beautiful one), known to have welcomed several of the highest dignitaries who worked for over 6 months prior to the Treaty of Versailles.
In other words, and you get it, Waldorf Astoria Trianon Palace is the perfect place to relax in a chic, bucolic and soothing setting a few miles from Paris.
