Following Emmanuel Macron’s address on Wednesday October 28, and the announcement of a new national lockdown until at least December 1, Prime Minister Jean Castex has just held a press conference, on Thursday October 29, 2020 to give further details as for the implementation of the new national lockdown.
Among the topics, the future for restaurants, bars, and hotels. As restaurants and bars – said to be non-necessary stores – must close from October 29, the Prime Minister said hotels can remain open during the new lockdown.
“Hotels that can keep working a bit for indispensable business travels can remain open” Jean Castex said. Yet, “hotel restaurants will be closed”. To eat, travelers will have to rely on room service since “only room services” in hotels are still allowed.
As for restaurants, they can set up a delivery or click and collect service and stay open only for you to pick up your order. “Stores as well as restaurants will have to close but can keep on working with deliveries and orders” the Prime Minister explained.
