Despite the current crisis, hotels keep on opening in Paris. Among the hotels recently inaugurated in Paris, PLEY, a four-star hotel set in the 8th arrondissement, in the very chic rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, a few steps from the Champs-Elysées.
More than your average hotel, designed as a genuine place of life, PLEY is inspired by the radiophonic history of the 8th arrondissement. As a matter of fact, not so long ago, two radio stations – RTL and Europe 1 – used to have their headquarters there.
PLEY atmosphere intends to be a bit vintage and vibrant, designed by indoor designer Fabien Roque.
Velvet, wood, and brass dress PLEY hotel up, a place featuring 100 bedrooms and suites.
Walls are adorned with old-fashioned ad posters, and archive pictures from Europe 1.
Vintage radio sets as well as works by contemporary artist Julien Nédèle complete the look of the hotel.
PLEY provides five bedroom and suite categories, from 15 to 75sqm, including changeable spaces for big families.
The icing on the cake? A penthouse, the suite with a private access to the hotel rooftop.
In addition to the night area, PLEY also offers several lifestyle places. Starting with the Pleyground bar, open all day long, as soon as the situation enables it, providing a Signature cocktail list created by a Best Worker in France – or Meilleur Ouvrier de France.
As for the Pleyground restaurant, it will open a bit later on in 2021.
The menu will include exceptional meats from breeder-butcher Polmard.
But PLEY is not without a food offering.
As a matter of fact, the hotel has teamed up with Michelin-starred chef Olivier Bellin’s fish street-food brand Mersea.
PLEY Mersea is set right by the hotel, at 216 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré (the hotel being set at 214), and serves seafood-inspired street food in room service.
Last but not least, PLEY is also a rooftop featuring views on the Eiffel Tower and Paris roofs.
A rooftop which concept will change with the seasons.
For the first season – summer 2021 – PLEY rooftop teams up with Château de Pampelonne and provides you with an atmosphere inspired by Saint Tropez beaches.
On the menu, rosé wine, fish rillettes, and other tapas, the whole with your feet buried in Saint-Tropez sand, your eyes set on the Eiffel Tower.
