Food lovers beware! Thierry Marx, the alchemist of French gastronomy, is launching his first fast casual bakery on the outskirts of the Eglise Saint-Augustin. Opened this Tuesday, June 14, the place offers good viennoiseries, tasty sandwiches and delicious pastries, all day long!

Thierry Marx opens his first bakery in Paris this Tuesday, June 14, 2016, in a small street in the Miromesnil/Saint-Augustin district, after opening a free cooking/baking school in Paris, "Cuisine mode d'emploi(s)" in 2013.

Fascinated by baking since childhood, Thierry Marx joined the Compagnons du Devoir in 1978, where he obtained CAPs in pastry-making, chocolate-making and ice-cream-making. While he has become a world-renowned chef, currently boasting 2 stars with his restaurant Sur Mesure par Thierry Marx at the Mandarin Oriental, the chef has always loved baking, and is now opening a bakery in the Saint Augustin district, at 51 rue Laborde (8e). In this way, he combines the world of cuisine with his first love, baking.

The bakery offers a range of 7 breads, including organic flour breads (rye tart, spelt bread, chestnut flour bread and rice flour bread, which are easier to digest) , viennoiseries and pastries from France's culinary heritage. Available to take away or eat in, in a warm, modern design, this " fast casual" catering offer invites us to push open the door and discover the new world of the chef, as enterprising as ever!

You'll smell the real butter croissant at 1.10€, brioches, lemon tarts and Viennese pastries at 2€. A specialty not to be missed? His puff pastry brioche with cappuccino at 2.50€, a real treat for breakfast, and his signature tart made with macaroon on a bed of apple compote: the Tarte Maître, priced at 20€!

For his sandwiches, he's chosen special"breadmakis", sandwiches rolled to order, in front of you: you'll find the El tayeb with preserved vegetables at 5.50€, the Saint-Germain, a ham and cured ham croque-monsieur at 7.10€ or the Meatpacking, a combination of pastrami and honey mustard at 9.90€, all made to order before our very eyes!

In keeping with his Michelin-starred reputation, the chef chooses his produce with care, filling his basket with products from sustainable agriculture and from less than 200 km away. Butters from Normandy or Poitou Charentes, pork raised on straw, charcuterie from Gilles Vérot, there's nothing but goodness for us. Seasonal products, short circuits, we're good. All the breads are organic, and even if they don't shout it from the rooftops, we're all for it.
