While waiting for Fouquet’s Paris to reopen – scheduled in July 2017 – what about visiting Enghien’s casino and discover the brand-new Fouquet’s Enghien-les-Bains? Open since mid-April, this restaurant features everything to seduce you.
The semi-arched tall patio doors let the sun in and offer a breathtaking view on the lake. The restaurant takes over the codes of the legendary restaurant (initially set on the Champs-Elysées) while keeping the charm of this exceptional place. Therefore, brown woodworks and red leather chair are everywhere and the original railings have been moved a bit further away to create a wider terrace.
In this charming setting with Harcourt’s portrait in the background, we discover a chic and creative bistronomic menu imagined by the great French chef Pierre Gagnaire. A simple yet very gourmet menu to seduce all lovers of good food.
As a starter, we like the duck foie gras ballotine that goes perfectly well with Valrhona’s Dulcey chocolate or the brown shrimp aspic with lentils, poached egg and whelk.
As a main dish, we love the sautéed lobster and ginger that is actually a mango and coconut risotto tasting like crustacean. We succumb to the prime rib of beef perfectly cooked and skillfully served with a Béarnaise sauce.
For dessert, let yourself be tempted by the lovely dessert cart: Fouquet’s Mille-feuille, pavlova or the excellent Babette, a vanilla and orange panna cotta full of flavors.
If you spend the afternoon or the evening there, you should stop by the tea parlor and bar: Salon de thé-bar de l’Escadrille, just downstairs. Big lounge chairs, a wide sunny terrace and beautiful lights once the night has come, you’ll be in clover.
Just a few minutes away from Paris lays an incredible setting and a charming place where you can relax on the shore of a lake and what about spending the night at the Casino?
