Kokotte is a little counter that has just settled not far from the rue d’Oberkampf. Very fresh and regularly changing, the menu is all about one main ingredient: super-fresh and organic egg that a friend of farming friends supply. The two cooks revisit classics from the contemporary cooking (bun’s, wrap and salad), nothing is expensive, and everything is good. Let’s run there!

If you take the time to chat with Kokotte team, you’ll hear the words “love”, “good produces”, “local producers”, “family”, and “friends”. Here, cooking is experience between siblings and is prepared in good mood, in the backroom of a hair salon opened onto the sidewalk on rue Ternaux.

In this quiet street as can be, a few tables are laid along lovely flowerbeds (filled with lavender and pieces of bark, we love it!). Have a seat and quietly enjoy a delicious, healthy and super-fresh juice, a regressive and crazy bun’s (organic egg, cantal cheese, bacon, mango dressing), or healthy and invigorating salad (shiny soft-boiled egg, quinoa trio, fresh spinach delicately seasoned, yummy sweet potato, squash seed and beetroot making us red with delight).

We finish with some lemon cake with very cute fruits, chocolate mousse or granola, everything is homemade and tasty. The entire menu makes sense and is appealing, because trendy.

It also smells like the influences of the neo-cooking we see everywhere from Brooklyn to Berlin, super-well performed with a nice mix of fresh vegetables, good mood-inducing seeds and melted cheese. We love it, we adore it, we’ll be back!

PS: our Kokotte is – as we said it – the “lady” of a hairy chicken, hairstylist Nicolas Waldorf and his two deconstructed hair salons where you can get a haircut while reading a book from the participative library, or have your portrait shot in a photo studio or enjoy pieces of cake. So, if you fancy a new do after you’ve eaten, you can walk in and discover this very nice concept store-hair salon!

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
