The Maison de l’Amérique Latine is a gem that all Parisians and tourists should discover. Boulevard Saint-Germain, near Solférino, the place houses a sophisticated restaurant in a dazzling garden hidden from curious passersby. For three years, chef Thierry Vaissière offers a refined cuisine to the 40 privileged ones who reserved a seat in this haven of peace. Try it before September 23, 2017!

The Maison de l’Amérique Latine is one of Paris gems we don’t always think about but we love. Each time we go there, we wonder why we don’t go there more often so much we enjoy the moment.

In the intimacy of this former diplomatic building, Thierry Vaissière manages an excellent French restaurant. We eat deliciously well, prices are not excessive and we can have lunch for €40 (starter, main dish, dessert). In the evening, if you choose to pick up your dish à la carte, it will cost you about €80 but it’s worth it.

Set on a terrace with a view over the garden, you can’t hear cars. The menu invites you to enjoy freshness and summer, perfect for the last sunny days. As a starter, finely cooked vegetables that trigger our taste buds followed by quality meat and fish morsels. In total, four dishes, not a lot of choice for incredible dishes cooked to the perfection!

It’s simple, Thierry Vaissière is able to offer you an elegant menu that pleases everyone. Let’s start with the organic eggs cooked at low temperature and served on a peas purée and a delicious beetroot gazpacho that looks like a chilled dessert but which is a savory starter served with a mozzarella foam. You may give anything to taste it even if you’ve a sweet tooth!

The chef offers a roasted veal loin and basil purée, a beef fillet and green asparagus conchiglie, roasted duck breast and its spring vegetables or a sea bream served with eggplants lasagnas. The loin is divine and even if it’s copious, the dish feels light in the mouth. Regarding the beef fillet, it was perfectly cooked and the green asparagus conchiglie were a true delight.

Let’s extend this moment with a dessert: poached peach, snacked cherries and citrus fruits, vanilla and raspberry mille-feuille, desserts are full of fruits. Ha! And finally, the chocolate and mascarpone sphere and the coffee with gourmet desserts make cream lovers happy!

We love the place and we aren’t the only ones. As a memo, you can have dinner in the garden until September 20 to start again in May, so, hurry up and book a table!
