Bao Shelter, the new burger with an Asian twist

Bao Shelter is the new fusion fast food that revisits burgers. A family adventure that mixes flavors from all over Asian for our mouth’s greatest happiness, set a stone’s throw from Grands Boulevards.

Last night, we went near Grands Boulevards, Paris, to try Bao Shelter. This new restaurant open last June is a true family story! Hélène, Frédéric, Céline and their parents come from southern China and already are a family of restaurateur owners. Travelling and eating lovers, they brought in their suitcases many recipes and exotic flavors. Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, China, it’s the whole Asia we can find in the plate at Bao Shelter! So, you get it, here’s it’s not about your average and traditional Chinese eatery with shrimp spring rolls and gold dragons as a décor. The food here is like the place: young and modern, Céline explains us.

And speaking of food, what’s on the menu? Bao Shelter revisits burgers by replacing the traditional bun with a white bread bun with wheat flour and steamed, the same bread used for baozi, these kinds of brioche stuffed with meat. In terms of filling, we don’t know between the classic burger and the Asian flavors for a truly delicious outcome. In addition to Bao Burgers, the second specialty of the place is Gua Bao, Taiwanese sandwiches prepared with the same brioche bread. Everything is homemade (including buns) with ultra-fresh produces and it smells like it!

To keep things always interesting, Bao Shelter team introduces a new recipe every two months, tested (and approved!) in advance on their friends. currently, discover the Gyu Burger, a recipe with a black bun.

Here’s a good reason to come back again and again in this small Asian corner. In terms of rates, count up €15 for a Gua Bao or Bao Burger + sweet potatoes French fries or salad + soft set menu.

In two words, Bao Shelter is a real journey at the crossroad of the Asian and Occidental cultures, we’ll come back without overthinking!
