Rush to the Park de la Villette to discover Legato. A new restaurant created this past June, a very open and light venue, cozy and comfortable at the same time, we just want to sit back and enjoy an excellent meal.
It’s more than a restaurant, it’s a true living place that calls us. Co-working areas, Chesterfield sofas, a large welcoming bar, here’s the décor of the restaurant. In the background, open before the large window doors, a fitted-out terrace.
On its own, the restaurant counts up to fifty seats, but you’re free to choose whether you want to have lunch or dinner in the place lounge areas. Or how about the extraordinary yurt reigning over the terrace. Atypical meal ahead! By the way, please note that at nighttime, the wooden cabin featuring a brazier offers soups, mulled wines and old-fashioned hot chocolate.
Bench seat with throw pillows, cozy seats and lounge chairs create the urban, baroque and industrial style of the restaurant decoration. A lovely eclectic mix ultimately aiming at making you feel like at home.
Currently open from Monday to Friday at lunchtime and at dinnertime, the restaurant offers an urban and refined cuisine. Fresh and seasonal products are promoted and the chef (Frédéric Bertrand) is keen to serve you tasty dishes that mix tradition and modernity.
As a starter, you can go for the excellent crispy shrimps served with their carrot Bavarian cream with peanuts and a sweet and sour vinaigrette.
Regarding main courses, we discovered the tender saddle of lamb stuffed with pistachios and cranberries, served with celeriac and the monkfish medallions with spices and coconut milk, served with seasonal vegetables. A delectable discovery rich in flavors.
In terms of desserts, you can choose the apple crumble with nougatine chunks, the timeless chocolate lava cake twisted with a pistachio custard or the Elégant Mascarpone covering an exotic fruits tartare. The restaurant offers a board that changes daily for those who’d like to lunch their regularly with a choice from the market.
Note that the bar is open from 12 p.m. to midnight and offers happy hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Make the best of it to try the flagship cocktails such as the Portobello Mojito (mint, lemon and old whiskey) or the temporary Belvédère cocktails.
