Whatever the time of day, Scaria is ready to satisfy your culinary cravings. This new grocery-canteen has just opened in the 11th arrondissement, in Parmentier, and transforms itself throughout the day! From breakfast with fresh fruit juice and crunchy toast in the morning, to a hearty sandwich at lunchtime, an aperitif to share in the early evening or a chef's dinner in the evening, there's something for everyone.
In addition to on-site and take-away catering, Scaria also acts as adelicatessen. And it's enough to listen to Baptiste tell us about the provenance of each of his products to immediately understand that they are chosen with meticulous care. Admittedly, the prices are higher than at the Monop' next door, but you'll find here treasures sold almost exclusively: Scaria is the gourmet's Ali Baba's cave.
But let's move on to the table... Comfortably seated among the many colorful cushions, we discover the menu. Although very short (3 starters, 3 main courses, 2 desserts), it's terribly tempting, and it's hard to choose! In the end, we opt for a perfect egg with helianthis and chorizo (12€) and squid tempura with beet ketchup, purple carrot and dried ink (14€), both of which are an absolute delight. Continuing with the beef onglet (24€) with ginger spinach and citrus scallops (25€), our taste buds are pleasantly surprised. Likewise, the desserts (10-11€) combine unfamiliar textures and flavors, and we enjoy trying to identify all the subtleties that the chef has put on our plate.
As you can see, we've been totally seduced by Scaria, which offers us a culinary voyage into the unknown. But if the cuisine is top-notch, that doesn't mean the service is stuffy. In a subdued atmosphere, the welcome is impeccable and cheerful, and you can feel that you're dealing with passionate people!
