Whatever time it is in the day, Scaria expects you with open arms and will likely satisfy all your current culinary cravings. This new delicatessen-canteen has just opened in Paris 11th arrondissement, in Parmentier, and transforms itself all day long! breakfast with fresh juice and crispy toasts in the morning, super hearty sandwich at lunchtime, appetizer to share in the early evening or chef’s dinner by night, there’s something for everyone.
In addition to the on-the-spot and take-away offer, Scaria also works as a delicatessen. You only have to listen to Baptiste telling us about where each product comes from to understand right away, they’ve been very thoroughly selected. Sure, the prices are high but here, you have treasures sold almost exclusively. Scaria is the Ali Baba’s cavern for gourmets.
But let’s move on to the table… Comfortably seated in the middle of many colorful throw pillows, we discover the menu. Even though it’s very short (3 starters, 3 main courses, 2 desserts), it’s terribly mouthwatering and we struggle choosing! We finally go for the oeuf parfait with helianthis and chorizo (€12), as well as for squid tempura served with beetroot ketchup, purple carrots and squid ink (€14), both are just delicious. Next, beef flank steak (€24) with ginger spinach and citrus fruit scallops (€25) to agreeably surprise our taste buds. Moreover, desserts (€10-11) combine unknown flavors and textures we find ourselves enthusiastically trying to name all the fine details the chef put in our plates.
You get it, Scaria completely delighted up and offers us a culinary journey to the unknown. But if the cuisine is of top quality, it doesn’t mean the service is stiff. In a quiet atmosphere, the welcome is impeccable and friendly, we feel we’re dealing with passionate people!
