Since September 2018, Alain Ducasse's floating restaurant Ducasse sur Seine invites you to travel and discover during lunch and dinner cruises aboard a specially designed electric boat. Let's discover it together in pictures.

Alain Ducasse is insatiable for discovery! He travels the world in search of new adventures both human and culinary . The chef, always in search of novelties, thus unveiled, in 2018, his brand new project: a restaurant boat, whose mooring port is located between Jardins du Trocadéro and the Eiffel Tower.

After the opening of his restaurant ORE in Versailles, or the Spoon 2 at the Paris Stock Exchange, Ducasse thus tackled the Seine, at the start of the 2018 academic year, with a restaurant-cruise capable of accommodating 200 people on board. Whether for lunch or dinner, each of the 2 services offers a 1.5 to 2-hour stroll around the greatest monuments of Paris.

And when Alain Ducasse himself explains his project in an exclusive interview, it's like this:

On the cruise's menu, you'll find contemporary French cuisine, with beautiful seasonal products prepared on site (we must emphasize!) by a crew of 36 cooks and pastry chefs taking turns on the ship's lower deck, under the direction of Chef Francis Fauvel.

For example, the first course is a delicious Dorade en gravlax et betterave.

As for the main course, we give a special mention to the Cookpot of small spelt and purple artichokes which has a really original and slightly vinegary flavor.

As for the dessert, the all-chocolate Paris with praline crunch is shaped like a boat, while the baked figs with fig leaf ice cream have a very pleasant old-fashioned flavor.

In addition, outside of the cruise departure times, you can enjoy a tea-time or an aperitif on the quay with a breathtaking view of the Iron Lady.

The design of the electric boat took 18 months to Gérard Ronzatti, naval architect and president of the floating architecture and naval engineering agency Seine Design. Ducasse's ambition was to create, above all, a "floating kitchen" above which he installed his restaurant.

For the interior design, all in transparency, Citysurfing called on the designer duo Maurizio Galante and Tal Lancman who provided the artistic and cultural direction of the boat. Franck Franjou, a lighting designer, designed and produced the lighting, which evolves according to the day and night rhythms.

If CitySurfing doesn't tell you anything, we owe them theOFF Paris Seine hotel, the bakery-mill to come...

So, are you ready for a magical cruise?

Please note that it's been over 4 years since our last visit, so the place and experience may have changed.
